2011-2012 NIT bound. A very good recruiting class of fundamentally sound basketball players who also have very good upside. Hilton Magic returns with upset of Top 20 OSU.
2012-2013 NCAA Tourney Bid as a #10 Seed with first round upset. .500 Conference record. Another very good recruiting class. Hoiberg is beginning to get a reputation as a solid bench coach and a very good recruiter. Opponents begin to have an uneasy feeling when landing in Ames and approaching The Colesium.
2013-2014 Semi Finals of Big 12 Tourney and NCAA Bid. #7 Seed with another second rough loss. Hoiberg begins to be recognized as one of the top young coaches with an excellent coaching staff. ISU lands its first McDonald's All-American since.... Think Indiana. You guys are in that boat.

Re: Iowa State Men's Basketball Predictions
Too many unknowns to make any real forecast beyond maybe two years, but it's for fun so I'll try.
I made overall record include postseason
Prediction:
10-11: 15-17 (5-11 Big 12)
11-12: 18-16 (6-10); 1 B12 tourney win, no NIT
12-13: 20-14 (9-7); NCAA one-and-done
13-14: 14-18 (5-11); X-factor dropoff/rebuilding
Minimum wish-list (but still realistic)
10-11: 17-15 (6-10 Big 12)
11-12: 19-15 (7-9) NIT
12-13: 23-12 (10-6) NCAA 2-and-out
13-14: 21-13 (11-5) NCAA one-and-done
Year 1 is probably too optimistic (too thin on experience. Having Dendy or Hamilton especially may have helped the frontcourt enough for a couple of wins). There could be enough of a drop-off in non-conference schedule and Big 12 will possibly be a little less loaded overall.
I feel like, if FH is going to be The Guy, the low end of the curve needs to be at least sniffing .500 even when it's a rebuilding process.
