Brackins is 6.10 according to draftexpress.com, cyclones.com, nba.com, ballersnetwork.com
And I didn't mention Cole Aldrich or Pittman because we are talking about big men that can run the floor.... and they can't You don't need big men who can run the floor to be successful! Boston has KG Great doesn't mean you run the floor well. Shaq was a pretty damn good big man, and that fat *** can't run the floor to save his ***. Dexter Pittman was a pretty damn good big man, but he can't run the floor to save his ***. LaRon Dendy could run the floor, and he was not a good Big 12 big man. Marcus Fizer was a HELL of a big man, and he wasn't even big.

Me personally I would love a big man like Shaq, or Cole Aldrich, or another Jared Homan

You don't need elite post up guys in college. You need guys that work hard and will run the floor in this system. IMO, height alone is highly overrated. Look at a guy like Luke Harangody. It's all about your skill and determination, not just height.

So what am I trying to say is "Iowa State needs to recruit a true post player with experience...

If you have good guards, they'll do the running. Cole Aldrich can't run the floor to save his ***, but he was PERFECT for Kansas because he played damn good defense, and he swat a ******** of shots. He wasn't going to light up the scoreboard, but he was going to get his buckets and put backs.

Right now name the Iowa State starting 5 who do you have in the post?? and who do you have replacing them if one of the post players gets in foul trouble

2. Phillips
3. Christopherson/Anderson
4. Ejim
5. Depends on who the other team plays: Aldrich type (just big, not ridiculously athletic) -> JVB Pittman type (big and athletic)-> Godfrey
Rotate your big men and figure out with JVB, Godfrey, McKnight, and Railey where your matchups are. JVB will get abused defensively by a big guy, but he's going to be open all night offensively.
You can overcome size by
a) playing smart
b) solid defense by your guards
c) getting position

Re: Post Players
I guess Iowa State doesn't need any post help at all I mean our guards have been dominate the past 4 seasons. Actually I can't even name a good guard besides Mike Taylor

Re: Post Players
Who was the last kid at, let's say, Michigan State who was a 6'10" world beater?
I could be wrong, but I'm sure that's going to be a tough find. They get it done with quick *** guards and some pipe-hitting 6'7", 6'8", 6'9" guys who play/rebound above the rim.
If I had to choose, I'd take a 6'8" nasty who can run the floor over a 6'10" "true post" all day long.

Best Power Forward in the Big 12 last year was 6'6
