The game where Kansas Cheated
Does anyone have any video or anything on that Iowa State at Kansas game a few years back... Where a lot of bad calls were called, one example when Jared Homan was fouled and got to shoot 2 free throws but he missed the first one and then Kansas rebounded it and ran down the court and made a 3 while Iowa State basically just stood there confused... But then they didn't take the points off the board because it was already in the official book so they let Kansas have the 3 and then let Homan finish his other free throw...

No, I don't have that one, but I do have a video of that game from a few years ago when Seneca Wallace dropped back to pass, but then the protection broke down, and then he started to scramble around, and the Texas Tech guys were chasing him, and he ran so far back, and there was just no way that he was gonna get a touchdown, but then he ran way over by the sideline, and the Texas Tech guys kept missing him, and he cut back the other way, and there was one last guy, but Mike Wagner took him out, and then Seneca scored, and then Pete Taylor went nuts!!! Do you want that video?
Re: The game where Kansas Cheated
You don't want to relive that!
We ended up losing a really close game, perhaps in overtime. We had quite the run at Kansas for about 6 years there between the two wins LE and Jamaal had and the 1 win Morgan had and the almost win Morgan had.

This may win the award for the longest sentence in the history of mankind. Seriously, I tried to complete that in one breath. (And yes I read posts out loud) (no I don't)

I don't see it as Kansas cheating. It was 100% the refs incompetence.

I'm with ya, hell if you can get away with it more power to ya.
Re: The game where Kansas Cheated
People have asked about it before and I don't know that anyone knows of a copy of it. It is probably in the NCAA vault and the Vatican archives.
Re: The game where Kansas Cheated
What irked me most was that Bill Self thought that everything was done correctly.
Could you imagine if the teams were reversed in that call?

thats probably sadly true ha... I remember one of the refs wasn't allowed to ref another Iowa State game for the rest of the season
Re: The game where Kansas Cheated
It really sucks that nobody has video of this, because when I tell people about it nobody will believe me. Even KU fans. This just reeks of NCAA conspiracy.

Clever!
Re: The game where Kansas Cheated
Ah...the "Phantom 3" game, as I like to call it. There was a blown call at the end as well that sent it into overtime. Langford's foot was over the 3 point line and they counted it to tie things up and send it to OT. I wonder if this stuff is in the Library of Congress...I live right by it.
Re: The game where Kansas Cheated
I'm not sure how the CF Mensa society couldn't find this on its own, but here's the play-by-play from ESPN.com
3:13 24-34 Foul on Christian Moody
3:13 Jared Homan missed Free Throw.24-34
3:13 24-34 David Padgett Defensive Rebound.
3:07 24-37 J.R. Giddens made Three Point Jumper.
3:04 Jared Homan made Free Throw. 25-37
And here's the recap from ESPN (AP):
There was a bizarre officiating error in the first half. Homan went to the free throw line and missed, then Kansas rebounded and all the players rushed down court, where Giddens put in a 3-pointer for a 37-24 lead. Then officials called a timeout and decided that Homan should have had a second free throw.
Giddens' 3-pointer was counted as Homan went to the line and made his next free throw.
"I am not allowed to talk about that, but I have never seen a situation where there was a two-shot foul, with the player missing the first and the other team rebounds and goes down and scores," Morgan said.

P.S., this is phenomenal:

 This made me laugh a little...the "Holy Document of Vatican Law".
