Can we fast forward a year?

Re: Big XII Shootaround
I don't this year will be that horrible. CU and NU aren't impressive. Oklahoma didn't take only one step backwards.
We won't win the conference, but I think we'll look a lot better than we have recently.

Ejim will add a very athletic 3 that likes to play defense.
We'll be young, but we have some talent now, and can rotate some guys in and out. That's not a bad spot to be.

I guess they're not excited to see Ejim in his freshman campaign, but I'm not all that surprised. I do think he's going to be a great player based on the little I've heard/seen about him and he should be one of the bright spots to this year's team.

I was a little surprised not to see him on that list too.

I especially liked the part about Julo being from Turkey. The columnist barely placed him in the right continent! "There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr -
Re: Big XII Shootaround
Time for a quote from the late James Gammon (Lou Brown in the movie Major League) who sadly passed away on July 16th of this year: “I'm not much for giving inspirational addresses. I'd just like to point out that every newspaper in the country has picked us to be last. The local press seems to think that we’d save everyone a lot of time and trouble if we just went out and shot ourselves. Me, I'm for wasting sportswriter’s time. So, I'd like to hang around and give them all a nice big ****-burger to eat.” Go Cyclones!!! -
Re: Big XII Shootaround
While I think we can maybe start sniffing some kind of post season in 2 years......
next will be an extremely painful year of basketball.... I really hope we have a bowl game to keep us entertained.

With the brutal schedule the football team has this year, I'd say we have a better chance at being a decent team in basketball. I'm not saying we'll be in the middle of the Big 12, but I don't see 9 or 10 out of the question. We're thin at the post, but I think we have enough quality guards, plus Ejim, to at least be competitive. We can at least beat Nebraska and Texas Tech.
