Masoli-White
Just heard on Murph and Andy that Masoli won his appeal and can play this year. Hopefully Royce can play this year.

Re: Masoli-White
It's a completely different situation.
Masoli has graduated so he normally wouldn't have to sit out a year, the only issue was a rule around transfering after getting kicked off a team.
White (obviously) hasn't graduated so the normal 1 year transfer rule may apply.
I guess it's the difference between starting with sitting out 1 year and getting it reduced (white) and starting with not having to sit out and getting it added to (masoli).
I'm still really not hopeful about White.

Re: Masoli-White
White sat out last year. That's his only hope.

I honestly see no correlation at all.

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers. -

Re: Masoli-White
Even in the most absolute hypothetical, in which the Masoli-White cases were 100% synchronized, I personally believe that the NCAA would rule them differently. See, unlike a standard judicial system, that applies the principles of precedent, the NCAA is an arbitrary force that does things however they please.

It will all be how the committee "feels" for that day. Farnold Degand, sat out a year at Iowa State, we change coaches, he transfers and then sits out another year at new school. Eric Moreland redshirts first year at UTEP, they change coaches, NCAA allows him to be eligible immediately at Oregon State.

That's really all these cases have in common.

In all seriousness though, there is no correlation. But we ARE Iowa State, so I don't like our chances at winning this appeal.
Utah Utes, Illinois Illini. The University of Pennsylvania thought about following this pattern by calling themselves the Pennsylvania Pencils. However, they were afraid their students would start chanting "We're No. 2"
