Royce White and company
So today i went to Jordan Creek mall with a few friends and we randomly walk in to Spencer's the store and guess who i see? Royce White, Chris Babb, Bubu Palo and Diante Garret. There was another guy with them and i think it might have been Ejim. I noticed who they were so i went up and almost was speechless. I'm like a little 12 year old when it comes to meeting big time D1 basketball players. Royce White was very professional and shook my hand and asked what my name was. Right when they were getting to leave the store Royce came up and gave me a fist pump. Its awesome to see these guys out together. Meeting those guys made my week. By the way i'm 5'10 and those guys are so friggin big when you meet them face to face. They'd own me in one on one "Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing." † -
Re: Royce White and company
I can relate to the 12 yr old girl thing. I met Hoiberg for the first time Thursday and it was everything I could do not to sound like a total idiot. That said, Fred was just about the nicest, dare I say dreamiest, human being pretty much ever.

Re: Royce White and company
If these guys all stick together, the excitement going into next season should exceed anything I can remember since I started at ISU in 1986.
Our 32-5 record in 1999-2000 was totally unexpected. ISU was picked last in some of the preseason polls. And I don't think anyone expected another Big 12 title the next season after Fizer left.
It will be interesting to see where ISU is picked to finish in next year's preseason polls.

I should have got a picture with them all.

Re: Royce White and company
I think it is pretty cool that they are hanging out so much off the court. This could mean big things for chemistry.

I know the pic of RW in face paint was posted here, but for anyone who has the NIU game on DVR or tape, one of the opening crowd shots has the bball players closeup, Chris Allen showing off his ISU hat, Babb, RW, DG, Ejim and maybe Booker(just to the edge of the screen shot)

Re: Royce White and company
you should hang out outside my apartment. i live next to the basketball facility, and they are always hanging around there. The bus stop is also right in front of my building.

Re: Royce White and company
Royce did not take out any security guards at the mall did he? If no then it looks like he learned his lesson.
Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

Re: Royce White and company
Sounds like Fred is already having a good influence on RW and I suspect this could turn out to be a great 2nd chance story for RW and our program.

I think the best part of the story is that you recognized all of the people Royce was with. One of the biggest changes he seemed to need to make was clearing out his group of friends that were not the best influence up in the Cities.

Pretty cool stuff. All in gray sweatshirts/pants.
