you'll have to take that up with Merriam-Webster. I just pasted their definition. For what it's worth, I don't know that I've ever seen a jelly doughnut that looks like it's been made with a split roll, let alone a slice of bread. But, then again, I don't get out much. They might have em in your neck of the woods.
