Saw 3D
Really? I mean, who are the people that keep watching this garbage? Isn't this about the 8th film now? How many times can you torture people before it gets tired?

Re: Saw 3D
Haha i got tired of it after the 3rd movie.

Personally, the first one was ok, but after that, I had no desire to watch any other of the 32 that have come out since. Can't you only come up with so many different ways to kill a person?

Re: Saw 3D
What went from a great concept in the first SAW flick quickly developed into a torture-porn series.

Saw 1 never scared me, but the ending and the premise for the movie was great. I just flinched when the guy actually sawed his leg off. (that painful flinch that most of us guys get when we see a video of a guy racking himself, provided the rackee isn't a complete tool)
Saw 2 once again didn't scare me. There were definite shocks of horror for some of the things (like say, jumping into a pit of needles) but kept a decent story going. I was definitely a little skeptical though because I sorta saw where they were heading.
Saw 3 was when I quit caring and watching. As soon as I realized that they basically had lobotomized the story, and got rid of their decent writers and just made an excuse to show as much blood and gore as possible, I quit watching.
I've kept track with the story as much as possible with wikipedia. I'm definitely going to hold off on this till I read some reviews, wait for wikipedia to be updated with the story, then I'll decide if I'll go see it or not.

Re: Saw 3D
We've seen all of them but the most recent (Saw 6?) I don't really care for them but my wife LOVES them - go figure.

Re: Saw 3D
The only movie out of the series I have seen was "Saw 4". I didn't realize that the movies had a perpetual story-line, so not only was I bored with the torture scenes, but I was completely lost on who the characters were and why I should care - I expect more of this kind of plot/story-telling with this 3D version.

Re: Saw 3D
Thousands of years from now a civilization of humans will dig up one of these Saw movies (since they are everywhere) and think we were a bunch of really twisted mo fos.

Re: Saw 3D
I should clarify that I'm not the type for torture porn anyway. I like my scary movies to be...well...scary. I suppose there is a definitive audience for every movie type, I'm just shocked this one is so large.

Re: Saw 3D
I'm not a fan of these types of movies but I just love the term "torture porn" or "gornography". I can only image some f'd up guy in the back of the theater getting his jollies on while some chick is getting her intestines ripped out.

Re: Saw 3D
The exact thing happened with Final Destination. The first one was actually a fairly creative concept, and the second was an okay movie as well. I didn't even bother to watch the third movie, I only watched the fourth this summer while I was on travel for work and there was literally nothing on via the limited selection of channels in my hotel room (and I'm not the kind of guy that takes risks with my employment by charging pay channels to my work charge card), and it was on HBO - and I literally became dumber for watching it. And now they're going to release yet ANOTHER Final Destination movie next year. No thanks...

I agree with everything you are saying but I will still watch every one they release for both of these films. Its only a two hour risk and if I like it I will watch it several times.
