On top of this Toyota, even though they build super reliable cars, has a very big and boring lineup of car. Honda seems to be moving this way as well. The new insight and CRZ are going to be the biggest failures in Honda history. In the mean time the Civic, Accord, Pilot, etc are no longer leaders in their class. I would say at this point, Ford should be more worried about Hyundai. They've had the biggest turnaround I've seen in automobile history. After driving a 2011 Hyundai Sonata rental for a week this summer, I wish we had given one a test drive when we were car shopping earlier this year. We probably could have gotten one new for the same price we paid for our 3 year old Nissan, but my wife was shying away from new cars and I wasn't a fan of the "comfort level" of the late model Sonata, so we shied away from it. Don't get me wrong - we love our Altima and don't regret getting it at all, but that was one fun ride.

In a couple decades Hyundai has gone from being a complete joke to one of the top five in reliability. Next time I'm car shopping Hyundai will definitely be on my list.

Re: Ford on a roll
When gas prices go back up Ford will be in a even better place with the new Fiesta and Focus.
Another big plus is the Sync. I know a few people that drive fords with Sync that won't even consider another car that doesn't have this type of system.
I almost forgot about the 2011 Mustang GT which will stomp the Camaro and Challenger.
With all that in mind, I can't think of one Ford that I would buy for my next car. I want something similar to a BMW 3 series or Infiniti G and paying 40K for a Taurus that will be worth 10K in 3 years doesn't float my boat.

I'd liek to see them come up with a little better styling.

Easily one of the worst cars I've driven in a long time. I couldn't wait to get home to my Camry, which is a pretty average car itself.
Side note: how does National get away with calling a Focus an "intermediate" car? I'd hate to see what they offer for "economy".

I absolutely love my Chrysler made 425 HP 4-door...

You weren't driving the 2011 Focus that's coming out.

Re: Ford on a roll
I have always been a Chevy guy, but both my '03 and '05 Silverados have had multiple problems. I'm in the market for a new truck this year, and I will definitely take a long look at a Ford.

I wasn't really comparing them, just saying that the Focus was so bad, it made me long for a completely average car (which is what the Camry is).
Basically it sucked so much I couldn't wait to stop driving it. There, is that better?
