really? i find it to be a major letdown - basically telling everyone that the south endzone has been shelved due to the fact that we don't support our team enough.

JP also provided some details on the south end zone that we may have already known...If at any time now or in the future we want an upper deck for the south end zone, the footings must be put in when the lower bowl is constructed. Those footings for the upper deck are the most expensive part of the project. Setting an upper deck on those footings would not have as significant of an impact on the cost.

I guess i'd figured for awhile now the south endzone had been pushed out a few years (probably based on that document i linked earlier)

Don't you wish you had a dollar for every time you had to type that?

This has nothing to do with it.

If so, he would be the lead donor by now :twitcy:.

Agree. I would also say Title IX should go out the window too.
Re: Pollard on Facility Improvements
Bowling in the south end zone may not increase capacity but it still costs money. The Regents will simply look at this and go "You're going to spend how much? With that attendance? While we want you off state funding? No."
Simple facts. It sucks, but it's simple. Top 50k consistently each game and get a large donor then the Regents may approve it.
Re: Pollard on Facility Improvements
This is great news. We so overdue for a new sound system it's ridiculous. It will be nice to have the video board on the north side for the people in the south endzone. I sat in the endzone Saturday and it was annoying to have to turn your head around to see the screen.

If there was a dollar every time thatd had to be typed on this site, there'd be enough money to fund our entire our entire athletic department, much less the south bowl.

Yes, I know. But when we're not filling the stadium, hard to sink money into seat-related enhancements.

I guess we support soccer?

Sure, and while we're at it, we can get rid of all the tax benefits as well.

If you are going to sink money anywhere, it should be in football.

I would really like to see some renderings and stuff too as this kind of has my curiosity up now. I didn't really expect them to move it from the South to the North for some of the reasons listed (sun glare/empty south endzone) so I really would be interested to see some of the ideas they have for putting it on the Jacobsen. I hope they really plan it out from all angles and get it right.
