Re: Pollard on Facility Improvements

if you compensate for the V shape in the jacobson building, you could in theory just set it right on top and make it wider rather than taller like the one we have now is. putting speakers on both sides as well as throughout the stadium may help give the feeling of "surround sound" and not just having all the sound coming from one side of the field.

Here's Indianas.

Indiana's also might not require as much support structure to get it above an existing building fwiw

Why dont they just tear up the old track out by cap timm field. all you would have to do is put in a new track and redo the infield for soccer games. if they get rid of the scoreboard at the stadium that would be a nice edition to get rid of the old board thats out there that is back from when we were part of the big 8

Re: Pollard on Facility Improvements
Might be interesting to do a ribbon or curved board, maybe even split it on each side. Really has to compliment the architecture (unlike M-State or Indiana).

You can't have "surround sound" in a stadium, the delay would make it sound sooo sloppy and echo bad.

And the 4 mil could be rough numbers. Wow! Four million plus what the sponsors will pay for putting their names and logos up there should pay for a fantastic video board/sound system! Sounds good to me! -

I assume at that point they will tear up the one at CappTim

Same as we've known for at least a few months actually, the big announcement here is that we got an official timeline on the video board.

I still like the idea of corporate advertising in the name of Jack Trice. Like Principal Financial Field at Jack Trice. I wonder what Minnesota makes from their corporate branding.

If you make a regular, rectangle videoboard it'll likely look bad. But if you get creative and make it "flow" with the shape of the Jacobsen Building, it could actually look really, really cool. Instead of the Jacobsen Building looking out of place, this could be an opportunity to make it 'fit' and look sweet.

On a side note, look at what is planned for 2014
