Eric Stoltz as Marty McFly in Back to the Future before Michael J Fox replaced him

Watching that footage is surreal. It probably would have worked, but the movie would have had a more serious take on it. They comment in the video about Stoltz not having the comedic presence which I can completely see.

Side note: Having the trilogy released in an anniversary blu-ray will be very cool. Plus select showings in the theaters.

Its pretty amazing they had 5 weeks of footage with him before changing actors and reshooting all of those scenes. Good thing they did though. It was a classic.

I am surprised how much Stoltz looks like Fox in those clips...I had to look twice. That might be because I am so used to seeing Fox in that movie trilogy.

It's weird to think of how some of the classic movies to us would be much different had the actor that was originally cast stayed in the title tole... like Tom Selleck as Indiana Jones.

I heard that Burt Ward from the way old Batman show was supposed to play the lead role in "The Graduate" but since he was contracted on the old Batman Show, CBS wouldn't allow him to be in the film.

Thus, Dustin Hoffman got a major role....and look what happened to his career after that movie. I bet Burt Ward can't stand him.

The Fonz as Danny in Grease and Gene Hackman as the dad on Brady Bunch always blow my mind.
I watched some of those Stoltz clips earlier today and it blew my mind. Can't wait for that trilogy to come out with the extra footage.

Try picturing Burt Reynolds as Rocky Balboa. Then imagine Ryan O'Neal as Rocky Balboa. Those were the top choices of the studio to play that role. Sly had to move mountains to get them to let him play it himself.
