I thought the show this morning was one of the better ones. Dave Z would be a great fit. So would Brett.

Any show that doesn't feature MVC basketball interview would be an improvement for the afternoon show. Yawn.

I have to say the most infuriating thing to me about Gigs is his insistence that John W. was in the wrong. He talks about John apologizing for the way he came after him at the start of the interview. I was listening that day and John did apologize but only because someone had to and he (John) is the bigger man.
Today I was out at Big Creek waiting for the rain to quit. Headed out to fish and got dumped on. The rain quit, so I fished for a while. I got back to the pickup and Mr. Gigs was still on JP and the comments from last night. That was two hours later. Wow talk about not prepping for a show. His disdain for everything ISU is his material. That is all he prepares if you want to call it that. Not very professional.

DMack - I know you left the dial for a while but radio is often about different audiences tuning in at different times.

I had Mike Florio from Profootball from 4:30 to 4:45. We had Rob Howe on from 5:05 to 5:20. I had Mark Phelps on from 6:05 to 6:20. Then CPR and KF pressers. So ... you call "not prepping" is actually from 4:05 to 4:25 and 5:45 to 6 pm with CW on from 5:30 to 5:45.

I know people don't listen for 3 hours but let's be fair ... there was a lot more on the show today rather than Jamie's statements ... but we had tons of callers wanting to talk about it and several emailers who sent in statements.

    Re: Chris Williams and Perrault

I listened to the end of one of the podcasts where they ripped on Paul Clark. While it was funny and true, I feel sorry for anyone who listens to what passes as sports radio in Iowa. It's not sports radio, it's Jr. High rejects in a competiton over who can talk the loudest. Throw in the hawkeye love, and the combined IQ of those on the radio rivals that of Miss Teen South Carolina.

There are two reasons media people would stay in any of the Iowa markets. They either have an affinity for one of the local teams, or they can't get a job elsewhere. With the rare exception, you are stuck with those wpho can't get a job elsewhere. And those with the affinity are usually hawkeyes, which is just as bad as someone who can't get a job elsewhere.

Hey Matt, I was listening too. You kept going on and on about about why the attendance was so low for the Utah game because of the expectations this year. Well if you listened to all you pundits and how tough ISU's schedule is this year we should have just mailed it in. If you haven't figured it out it's about winning. If you win they will come. Its not the economy stupid.

That's why Bill Fennely has one of the highest attendance averages in the country for WBB. What about Iowa men's basketball why don't you rag on them. Better yet why don't you go back to the south or east or where ever your from and we will all be better off. Also I like how you bashed McDermot when he was ISU's coach but now love him as a Creighton coach. You radio guys ar all hypocrites.

I like Ken Miller but you have got to go so I will also be switching over to Marty. Good luck Matt have fun in Omaha.

Hutch, welcome to the site and post more often.

Forget about Matt as it is just something to wipe your feet on when going in the door after stepping in something you shouldn't of. He'll be on the #1 sports radio in North Dakota or Canadian territory soon....maybe ken, the smartest guy in ankeny, will be there soon too. I have refused to support any of the advertisers on that station let alone the matt and ken, good cop bad cop, sports hour.

I've really enjoyed Frank Monroe on 106.3 FM and even lazer 103.3 in the morning. Heading home with some rock and roll is the way to go!

Support the advertisers on this site and other ISU affiliates.

Am I the only one that finds it funny that matt replied to dmack's post while ignoring Brent Blum's?

Why not answer Brent's post with that loud voice of your's matt? Because from the way he tells it, it sounds like you blew something way out of proportion.

No really. He has a cat. At least that's what he has Tweeted about recently.

Don't misunderstand lack of response to lack of guts. Brent knows what he wrote - we all saw it on the premium board on CR. It was a few weeks ago - we just didn't bring it up. I didn't bring it up on twitter - he did. I said my piece behind the scenes last night during the show when we learned he was coming with Dave Z. It shocked Ken and I. (Dave and Adam Emmenecker are my pick for the morning show btw)

I didn't make this public with Brent, he did on twitter. I simply explained my issue with him after some crazy Des Moines Reg. girl started tweetting me so much she had to kill her whole account.
