Best morning yet on KXNO

You could actually listen to it, with rational analsys of ISU, IA, and NFL football. How refreshing, they don't stand a chance to get the job. Sorry if there was already mention of this, but it deserves two threads anyway.

How has this been going? I have just been tuning in to Mike and Mike lately since the couple of times I have tried KXNO it's either endless commercials or the host of the day wrapping up.

Are there ANY decent candidates? For some reason it doesn't seem like there are.

The Sports Freaks were really good today. I thought it was refreshing and good to hear some real opinions... YEsterdays was ok too, but almost came off as a long news cast with just reports rather than opinions...

They are very good. Actually, Marty Tirrell has been the one the past few months to give them a few shots at local radio. They know their local stuff.

I don't personally know these "sports freaks" you speak of but I have chatted with Blake a lot on Twitter and he seems like a great guy who is passionate about the business. I hope that he gets a shot at the next round. I heard about 10 minutes of their Saturday night show on my way home from Cyclone Reaction last week and enjoyed it.

Dave Z. is one of my best friends in the DSM media and I know that he'd do great work. He's a class guy all the way.

2 diehard hawk fans - that fits that KXNO mold for sure.

And they may be solid and try to be unbiased. But quite simply, it will not be good for Iowa State fans if this morning show has this huge of a hawk slant. It's central Iowa - one of the hosts has to have a Cyclone slant.

That is one of my biggest fears. I will not be tuning into the Hawkeye Morning show if thats what it turns into.

Deace may have been a Michigan / Big10 fan first and foremost, but he had a freakish knowledge of college football. He at least gave some anti-hawk sentiment and at least had knowledge of ISU.

Miller was a Hawk homer, but he usually kept the condecension to a minimum. Usually.

They also had a great chemistry and could easily fill up the time and keep it interesting.

I would love it if we got at least one REAL Cyclone fan on board to keep the Hawk love fest to a minimum. It would also lead to some good banter between the two hosts.
