How to get rid of fleas in a house?

Does anyone have any good solutions to remove fleas?
The people that rent the house don't have a dog but the previous owners had a dog and I asusme the fleas came from their dog.

Call a vet and ask. There is a spray that we had to use when our dog got them once. Its very harmful so you need to make sure no kids are playing on the floor.

You have to get the flea bombs from the vet. The ones you buy Target etc simply do not work. Last time we got them they were about $30 each but worked great.

We just went through this with our dogs. I've been told that they are bad this year. We did a few things.

We put flea powder on the carpet and let it sit overnight. Nobody should touch it while it sits there. The product we got killed fleas and larva, along w/ anyhting else might be there We vaccumed it the next morning.

The other thing that we did was sprayed the furniture and pillows with a flea killer. Since then, we haven't had any problems.

Just make sure that no children and pets get into this stuff while it's sitting there.

This is pretty much it. Go get some from your vet, take a day trip with the pets, and set these suckers off. Takes care of the problem.

Turn on 1460 KXNO from 4-6. It worked for me.

They can't live long without a host. Just leave the house for a 48 hour period or so and they should die.

The fleas particularly like to hide in carpets, so deep-clean them. Also, wash all your sheets and blankets.

Grind up some salt into a fine powder and sprinkle it over the carpets. It will stick to the fleas and they will clean themselves to get it off, and dry up and die.

I've found the best way to get fleas out of my house is to kick out all of the Nebraska fans. Works every time.

I used Hot Shot Fogger from the store after I had to put my dog down for old age and that stuff got rid of them. Bought at store. It got rid of them and I had them bad. Like someone else said without a host you can get rid of them.
