    Thanksgiving - Trader Joe's (DSM)

I'll be driving to Kansas for a family thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, and figured tomorrow might be a good time to check out Trader Joe's and pick up something to bring with me.

Anyone have any suggestions on what to get from there? Doesn't necessarily have to be thanksgiving related, just something you generally pick up when you go there that you wouldn't at another grocery store

    Thanks!

Almost everything in the store is different than you'll find at a HyVee. I like their packaged, marinated meats. Yum. Be prepared to fight a crowd though. I've never seen a store that's so busy, all the time. It's like black Friday, everyday, all day.

Its 3 buck, at least now. And you can go wrong if you have taste buds, at least with some of it ( I havent tried it all).

Thier beer brand is not bad, at least the better 6 dollar six pack craft type stuff isnt. Havent tried the really cheap varieties.
Nothing to see here mods. Keep moving.

Ding ding ding. 3 buck chuck is one step up from Mad Dog.

I honestly don't get the love affair with this place.

I'll stick with Hy-Vee and Fareway.

I was there yesterday and all the locals were standing in front of the food and just staring at the packages.

I've bought $10 bottles of wine that are no better than 3 buck chuck. It's not as good as a $15 bottle, but I'd rather have 5 bottles for that price.

It's not great wine, but it's way better than Mad Dog. And it's the same price.

TJs cheap wine has this mystique, but really its not that good. The thing I like the most there is their forzen food selection. Good fruit and different sauces/marinades too. I want to like their meat section, but it never smells right when I get it home. (that was an odd sentence)
