ISU was a 2 point conversion away from finishing 6-6 and going to a bowl game with a schedule that nearly every college football writer picked to leave us at 3-9 at best. Iowa was a dropped pass away from being 6-6 when many were picking them to get a minimum of 10 wins coming off of a BCS Bowl win.

But that criteria doesn't count, because the obvious answer would be ISU - and we can't have that.

I see his point to a certain extent. Coming into the year many would have been happy with 5 wins because our schedule appeared to be loaded. As it turned out, Utah, Iowa and Texas disappointed, we had a great chance against Nebraska and really Oklahoma was the only team we played that we legitimately should have and did get blown out.

The point Giggles is missing and I wish Chris would of brought up about the Texas game is the way Coach Rhoades and the staff didn't lose the team after being blown out against Utah and Oklahoma. Previous teams would of lost out! For that reason I feel better than Hawk fan.

Also, Giggles whom made the Hawk preseason expectations, you and your fans! Oh yeah, Jon Miller.

For once I agree with Giggles...Losing the last 3 games...when you need to win one game...The season couldn't have ended any worse....

Hardly. If you had watched UT struggle against Rice and Wyoming in the first couple of games, it would have been pretty clear that the lug nuts were already loose. The 34-12 loss to UCLA three games prior to ISU confirmed it. A couple of lucky breaks kept the OU game close. NU was an anomily.

Yeah those crappy non-conf teams and texas dropped our schedule soo much that I think it went from something like the #1 toughest to just a top 5 or 10. Still pretty tough. Also Missery wasn't expected to be as good as they were nor was NIU. CO hurt, but most were predicting a loss before the season and especially with the coaching change.

Still a very tough schedule. Not far from where we expected it to be. Some wins shifted yes, but was it TCU's Schedule. No. Heck I like our chances winning 7 or 8 if we play Iowa's Schedule. It is what it is. I don't consider this year a failure. Could it have been better yes, but I had great and relevant football to watch all year. That's what we needed this year. Now if that were all we were getting out of a $3 mill coach who's been there for 10 yrs, I'd start to ask some questions.

I'm no so sure and I think we lose 6.
I think the line will be better and that's 2 of the loses.
We're getting a new QB, he'll have growing pains.
AA lost his 2 favorite receivers, our new QB will find his own favorites.
A-Rob was the total package hopefully next year's candidates can shore up
    what they are lacking.

Hopefully the Defense takes it up a couple notches and the offense won't be as pressed.

Iowa and Texas, sure, but I don't think you can say that Utah disappointed. They did win 10 games and depending on their bowl result wil finish in the Top 20, which is where they were predicted when the season started.

Come on, at least our team showed some heart. Iowa showed none.

    Wow.

    Re: Giggles at it again

If you actually listened to Perrault's point, he only threw out preseason expectations because if you included those, it wasn't even worth discussing. Iowa's season was vastly more disappointing, and he said that himself.

He added the caveat for the sake of argument. Nothing more, nothing less. I can't stand Perrault for the most part, but I don't think he was going out of his way to hate ISU in this segment.

For the record, removing preseason expectations, I'm very disappointed in how our season played out. We should be bowling.

I expect the oline to be better or the line coach might be in trouble.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
