I don't think I'd want used......

I've looked a bunch of times, and I've ended up feeling like the best bet is just to wait until the cheap corded one dies, and then buy another one of those.

I don't know much about them, but I've heard unfavorable reviews by friends of mine who have the Xbox 360 one made by microsoft. Very inconsistent hearing people talk.

I had the one from MS and it worked fine for about a year. After that it was nothing but problems. The battery (which is internal) wouldn't hold a charge. Major problems not being able to hear any communications and on and on...... I went back to the standard one that just plugs in.
