    Garage heater

I want something that I can use once in a while to keep the garage warm. Any suggestions?

Kerosene, Propane and Electric are all good options. Depends how big an area?

3 car garage. Electric would seem to be the easiest but would it provide enough power?

Starting point suggestion, then choose based on your needs, space, etc.

This one is simple, it heats our tailgate tents, and heats our garage.

    Re: Garage heater

I'd go with radiant heat fueled by LP. I have the smaller one and it does a great job in my garage. No noise like you get with the jet heaters and no fumes. Radiant heat is far more efficient as well.

I have a Mr. Heater Portable Buddy Heater for my garage. The nice thing it can be used in the house if the power goes off. I have a extra propane tank from my grill and can use it with the heater, instead of the little propane cans.

    Re: Garage heater

Whatever you do make sure that it is a heater that has an exhaust to the outside of your garage unless you want to smell like whatever kind of fuel you are burning after being in the garage for a minute or two. For example do not get an L.B. White heater, they heat well but it makes everything smell in the garage because it doesn't have any outside exhaust.

Mr. Heater Portable Buddy Heater does not leave a smell in the garage. I have a carbon monoxide monitor in the garage and it has not registered any when I am heating the garage.

Totally agree with you on this. I have a larger Mr. Heater and modified it to hook directly in to my main LP tank instead of using a 20 lb tank. I have yet to have an issue and have been using it for 5 years.

Ditto on the LP heaters. They work pretty nicely and can run all day.

    Re: Garage heater

Have a Beacon Morris BRUt, natural gas, mounted in the garage. Makes it really nice in there and easier to spend time in the garage in the winter, makes it easier to clean, wash the floor, etc.
