I know its a Disney film, whatever whatever, but I still have wanted to see this for a long time.
Tron is an absolute abomination of a good film.
Olivia Wilde in spandex would be the only reason to see this.
I never saw the original, does that matter at all? Is this a sequel, remake, prequel, or what?
I had some questions about this. I had never seen the original, but the release of this one has sparked some interest for me with it looking really cool, having Jeff Bridges in it, and sounds like a unique story. The only problem I am having is convincing the girlfriend to go. She says that she has no idea what its about so she isnt interested. Can someone give me a brief rundown of the plot of the movie (without spoiling anything of course) because I know very little about the Tron movies.
Hey do you think Tron from Wilson Toyota of Ames got his name from this movie?:jimlad:
It is a sequel. According to the reviews, it is better. I saw the 1982 version a couple of times and it was not outstanding. Our kids are hardcore gamers, so we are going today. I am hoping for good special effects - this will be my 2nd 3D movie. It's cold and I'm done shopping so what the heck, this will get me out of the house.
It's a sequel, main character is the son of the protagonist from the 1st one.
I am usually not a fan of remakes, but in this case I'm all for it. two movies I have been saying for a long time I wished were remade (due to better effects doing them better justice) were Tron and Dune.
It has a sweet soundtrack!
I haven't seen the movie though... I just heard Daft Punk was doing the entire soundtrack and had to get some of the music.
I wanted this movie to be better than it was. It was pretty good, but unfortunately not the amazing movie I wanted to see. Pretty good story, like the first movie, but not as much action as I had wanted.
Not to worry, they left it open for the sequel. The IMAX 3D was good, but not amazing. Glad I saw it in the IMAX, but if I go again (not likely) I will just see it in a regular theater.
I liked it. I would give it a B, but it had the potential to be an A+.
What the what was that?
Visually its pretty cool, but I was expecting Avatar 3D visuals and feel like I got The Sorcerer's Apprentice. The plot doesn't make a ton of sense and I can see the soundtrack being really cool if your into techno/gamer music, but its not my cup of tea. It was a good way to spend an afternoon and serves its purpose by entertaining, but its kind of just blah.
This wasn't the new Jeff Bridges' movie I really want to see anyway, Rooster.
