This isn't a personal shot at you, but it bugs me when people say things like this. It's kind of like the "serve them and their friends alcohol at home so they won't get crazy drunk on their own" argument. What ever happened to teaching kids right from wrong and then expecting them to behave that way?
It is in the nature of a teenager to push the limits of what their parents/schools will allow. Tolerate alcohol at home, they will most likely party even harder when you aren't around. Allow them to grind at school and they will ....????
This next part may sound completely hypocritical and maybe even bi-polar but I also think that it is funny that the baby boom generation and now the X generation parents are complaining about the way kids dance since they/we were the pioneers of using dance as a way of sexual expression.
What was taboo in the 70s was not considered taboo in the 80s. Taboo in the 80s?OK in the 90's. Taboo in the 90's? No big deal today. When does it end? Will parents in the year 2030 be conplaining because their kids are having an all out orgy on the dance floor?

By 2030, all sexual relations will occur only via virtual interactive holograms, just like in Johnny Mnemonic.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come. -

As a Johnston grad this is just funny. The parents in that district are just hilarious.

I'm just forlorn that I missed out on this when I was in high school.
I don't do signatures. Blondes, brunettes, and red heads are a different story. -

If your a white guy, thats probably the most complex dance your capable of, I know it was for me. Also, its probably the only worthwhile dance there is.
Is there seriously an article in the paper about teenagers dancing? Did we just timewarp back to Massachutes in the 1600's? Next thing you know we're going to be burning witches and branding women with the letter A. Anyone who is worried about this really, really needs to get a life.

Re: The Register is a little behind
I can't believe this is just now coming out.. This was how we danced at my high school for all the dances. And I went there from 02-06. This story is behind the times by at least 10 years.

Next thing you know they will want to re-write the school text books making conservative values the basis for our country...Ohhh wait...
