Apparently grinding is just now reaching "fad" status.
I missed out on grinding in HS by a couple years. Joe's Knighthawk in Waverly was way ahead of the times though if grinding is just now becoming popular

how else do you dance in high school? there is your token michael jackson dancer(s), and the rest of the boys cant dance, so they grind.
Last year my high school made announcements saying they weren't going to allow grinding at Homecoming, and if caught you would be kicked out. They had no chance of stopping hundreds of kids haha it was an epic fail on the administrations part.
2 Questions: Would you rather have the kids grinding at the school?
Would you rather not have your kids at the school and off doing who knows what/who knows where?
I saw this article too. This was going on when I was in high school in the mid to late 90's. They are just now seeing it?
