Ceder Rapids
Are you people that are from there super excited to go see this and tell everyone that you "have totally been in that bar" and "drive by that hotel every morning" Ed Helms & John C. Reilly Nearly Nude In Funny New 'Cedar Rapids' Trailer (VIDEO) The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come. -

Re: Ceder Rapids
Wish I could, sadly I don't think it was actually filmed in CR. The Final Season was tough, I got to be an extra in that movie.

Re: Ceder Rapids
For future reference as well, do not refer to Cedar Rapids as C-Rapids. Thanks :-)

Re: Ceder Rapids
And also, why don't they just name it Ann Arbor or whatever, if that's where it's filmed?

Re: Ceder Rapids
I don't get why movies aren't just filmed where they take place. You see it all the time.
If they couldn't shoot it in Cedar Rapids, just name it after wherever it was shot. Also, the city they show in the 2nd skyline shot looks like a major city, like much bigger than DSM or Omaha. Certainly too big for CR.

Re: Ceder Rapids
I know they filmed some flyover, etc. shots of the city. Interested to see what all actually gets in the movie.
On a side note, this movie actually looks pretty funny. I think I saw a review that said it was kind of 'The Hangover' Midwest style.

Hilton Coliseum was specifically built to hold in sound with a solid concrete structure, steel doors, and a crowd that sits just a few feet from the court. With a fan base that frequently ranks among the nations largest crowds, players from opposing teams, as well as Iowa State, have said that the floor has shaken due to the loudness of the crowd -

Probably because movies like Apollo 13 would have been cost prohibitive! -

They do have a real shot of CR at about 0:17 in the trailer, when the guy is saying "I need you to go down to Cedar Rapids..."
