Hickory Park

Taking my wife to Hickory Park this week. I know what her favorite is. What is yours?

I'm cheap. I go for the 1/2 chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and then whatever other side I'm in the mood for. Then I take 1/2 the chicken home to use for sandwiches the rest of the week, all for like $5.

I always get the garbage burger. I had my first when it was at the old hickory park and was happy to know they didn't change it when they moved.

Babyback ribs folled by the smore sunday. My wife loves the Philly Cheesesteak. I know there is better BBQ out there but I don't know many places that match the complete package good BBQ, good sandwiches, good ice cream, great service.

That's my favorite with pork ribs. So much smoky meat.

I always get the same thing: 1/4 lb cheese and bacon hickory on white with a side of cheese balls. Then for dessert a chocolate malt to go. Love me some Hickory Park. I personally don't understand the people that bag on the place. As long as you don't go in expecting Gates or something like that, you'll never be disappointed with HP. When you have a family of 4 and everyone gets something that they like plus dessert all for around $30, how can you beat that? Damn near couldn't go to BK for that price.

I usually get a hot turkey with corn on the side and my wife always gets the smoked turkey sandwich/w fries.

1/4 Chicken White slathered with BBQ sauce with Mashed Potatoes and whatever other side I am in the mood for. The wife loves their French Dip and we usually split a sundae as well.

I am also partial to their BBQ chicken sandwiches. The Mrs and I usually grab a couple on the way to B-Ball or late football games.

depending on the day of the week, they have some really good soups available. The Cheesburger Chowder and Chicken Tortilla are particularly good.

The breaded chicken sandwhich with cheese and bacon (mods DAR). Large house dressing for dipping. Onion bun, fries.
Garbage burger is good, but so is the taco and chili burger.

Always liked the half chicken and rack of ribs, the garbage burger, or the pizza burger.
