Any Cross Canadian Ragweed fans?
Just a heads up that Cody Canada and The Departed will be @ Peoples in Des Moines this Saturday Night. Cody is the former lead singer of the now tragically defunct CCR.

I really like CCR, did not know they split. They played in Dubuque within the last 3-4 months. I imagine Canada will do well on his own or with whoever he cobbles together.

Re: Any Cross Canadian Ragweed fans?
Ive seen CCR at least 30 times in concert. Hands down my favorite band, and Ive never met anyone who didnt like them. This is like the Beatles breaking up to me. that being said, Im interested in what the departed will sound like, no way it's better than CCR. I wonder if it will sound more like CCR last two albums, especially the last album which I thought was horrible.

I also did not like the latest CCR record.

I will be there, allready have my tickets bought and looking forward to it. They split, because Randy Ragsdall wanted to spend more time at home with his autistic son.
I have seen CCR 6 times in the last 3 years, they put on one of the best shows for the money. Cody Canada is very talented.

Love these guys, did not however know they had split. Have seen them in concert 3 times and they are great.
I however have always kind of thought that Cody felt he was a little better and above the rest of the band. But that's just my gut feeling.
Very upset to know they split as I was hoping to get to take my wife to see them some day. Now i just hope that Robert Earl Keen will keep playing shows and get close enough to take my wife to see him. He is great in concert.

Saw them down in Oklahoma at a country music festival two years ago along with Randy Rogers Band, Jason Boland, Reckless Kelly, Wade Bowen, Robert Earl Keen, and Jerry Jeff Walker. One hell of a concert. Cody was probably the most talented musician out of the bunch, IMO.

Reckless Kelly is awesome, I got my Ragged and Reckless Tour 2010 poster hanging on my wall right in front of me. They are soooo much better live than recorded.

Re: Any Cross Canadian Ragweed fans?
I was a big Ragweed fan and would be there Saturday to check out the Departed had my wife not scheduled our annual trip to Vegas for this weekend. I would expect a heavy dose of Ragweed songs to be played. I think that this is a chance for Canada to see if he can draw the crowds without the rest of CCR except for Plato. He has already gone back on his promise that they would not be playing and Ragweed songs. I fully expect that after a few years of this that if they don't make it big that Seth will go back to fronting his own band and CCR will make a triumphant return.

I saw them open for Big & Rich at the Iowa State fair a few years ago and I was not impressed. The biggest round of applause they got was when they finished and left the stage. For most of their set people were getting up to get their beer and use the restroom that was how dull many there thought they were.

Why do you guys keep referring to Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR)? - “I’m not a spin my wheels type of guy." - Coach Paul Rhoads
