I have a degree in Health & Human Performance with a specialization in Sport Management. To be completely honest, I wouldn't recommend it as jobs are very limited, but it is possible to find a job in the field. Most of the people I graduated with do have jobs in the field either at local gyms or in college athletic departments.
In regard to the post above, most agents are lawyers so an advanced degree is required in most cases.

My sister had this major, and she was both a personal trainer and a health coach for Goodwill Industries.

I would agree w/ this. My sister has that degree and she has had trouble finding a job that is not nights/weekends cleaning up sweat puddles in the gym. She still hasn't found one of these types of jobs that provides benefits. I do have a friend that got on w/ a corporation downtown dsm that has their own gym and she is doing well now running the gym but there are very few of those jobs.
