Droid vs. iPhone
I'm one of the Verizon customers who will be eligible to pre-order an iPhone on February 3rd. My main motivation for wanting an iPhone is because I really liked my iPod but have been without one for about a year now. Also I love using iTunes and want to continue using it to manage my music library.
That said, the iTunes issue is relatively easily overcome with a minor work-around (you can copy and past directly from iTunes onto an SD card) and, all other things being equal, WHICH SHOULD I CHOOSE?
iPhone or Droid?
I'm totally confused and change my mind about 12 times per day.

Re: Droid vs. iPhone
I work at Verizon and there are 4 droid phones right now that are better than the iphone. and 4 more coming out in the next couple months. If you want to know some of the reasons I would be happy to explain.

Re: Droid vs. iPhone
Droid. HTC Thunderbolt and Droid Bionic both look pretty nice (coming soon) and for existing devices i'll take a droid incredible over an iphone any day.
Also, if you do decide you really want an iOS device like the iphone, wait until summer. Its likely that apple will release the iphone 5 then, which will likely be released for both GSM\CDMA at the same time. Anyone that really wants a verizon iphone has waited a long time, a few months more for up to date tech (not 9 months old, an eternity in cell phone tech) isnt much.
Also... this is almost mandatory to include:

Re: Droid vs. iPhone
How much are they charging for the iPhone?
If you already have all the accessories(docks/cables/other things that use Apple's proprietary plug) for iPhones/iPods I'd probably just stick with that.
That said, love my DROID! But I've never been a fan of Apple's overpriced products.

That said, love my DROID! But I've never been a fan of Apple's overpriced products. $199 for the 16gig and $299 for the 32. But I already sold my old phone for $100 on ebay so that will ease some of the pain. Until then I'm using my wife's old pink Motorola Razr. Yes. Pink.

The Evo, Epic, and Evo Shift would all be on my want list above the iPhone.
The iPhone really set the standard 3 years ago, but while they have been taking a year per update to add revolutionary features such as video recording, cut and paste, true gps, etc., the various flavors of Android hardware have been moving forward by leaps and bounds. And the software and apps are advancing just as fast. The freedom to use your phone the way you want to use your phone makes Android a much more desirable smart phone platform than anything else I have ever used.

I am also one of the Verizon customers that is able to pre-order the Iphone on Wednesday at 3 am. After much consideration and research I am going to go with the Iphone. I have an Itouch and I really enjoy how easy it is to use and navigate around with.

Re: Droid vs. iPhone
If you do go Android, download doubleTwist and you can two-way sync with iTunes. If you buy the $5 AirSync extension, you can do it wirelessly. If you really loved your iPod, go with the iPhone as it will be pretty much the same user experience + making phone calls.

If you want to know some of the reasons I would be happy to explain. Has Verizon let their employees know anything about the new HTC phones? Specifically, will HTC be making any new 3G phones after the Incredible? I need to upgrade my Eris and I like the information being leaked about the Thunderbolt, but Idon't really want to pay 4G plans when it'll probably be another year or two before we see a 4G network.
