Brag book
We participated in this year’s Professional Photographer of Iowa convention that spanned the last 5 days – and submitted prints for competition. 6 judges from all over the nation traveled in to analyze entries from well over 100 photographers.
I’m pretty damn thrilled to say that both Brian (photographer and business partner) and I were each awarded with a Top 10 Iowa Photographer plaque which was based on the scores from our individual submissions. In addition, we took home a few first place awards for individual print categories along with a handful of other ribbons/certificates for high scoring prints.
Two of the prints that placed first were a solo image of Travis Ferguson (former ISU FB player) and a glamour/commercial image of Travis with a female. It’s awesome to have been able to grow my career alongside Travis growing his model career.
In total shock that we did so well, notably regarding my prints – as it was my first competition. I didn’t even want to submit any for competition and was glad I had people pushing me to do so!

They say country music speaks to the heart. Unfortunately, it has to go through your ears to get there. -

Nice website btw, if we lived closer wife would consider coming down for your workshops. She's been dabbling in photography for about a year now and is thinking about getting serious.

New photographers interested in learning are always great. Weekend workshops are on the way. Get her on board with the PPI though - the fall/winter conventions are invaluable! I know Don's work yet never got an opportunity to meet him. Dan McClanahan was a very deserving recipient of the award.
Wish we would have gotten an opportunity to meet you - hopefully at the fall convention! Originally Posted by jtdoyle1 Congrats... you do great work.
Sorry to hear about getting the plague though. Yeah, we're struggling thru it - injections are helping.
Thanks for finding the typo. :)
