He eventually gets beat up though by about 10 guys. Then Stone Cold comes out and drops about 30 Stone Cold Stunners in a row and saves Stephanie. I remember my roommates and I jumping up and down and yelling like we were at Jack Trice.

Re: The Rock is back
Austin, Hogan, Ric Flair are all done as in-ring performers.
I'll give Cena credit for developing as a wrestler because when he started he was just too stiff to be believable but my god, the Cena character is just dreadful.
A babyface who is an Ahole to the other performers. Who dreamed that one up?

Re: The Rock is back
IMO the best storyline ever was the whole Sting Saga. That was pretty awesome and every Monday night I was glued to the TV to see what kind of **** Sting was going to pull.

Re: The Rock is back
I don't think we'll ever see professional wrestling as big as it was when the NWO first invaded WCW in the late 90's, and the few years that followed. The WCW vs NWO angle, with Sting as the "Crow" character, put WCW on top...forcing WWE to work that much harder on its characters, story lines, etc. The result was a classic ratings war between the two, which had my friends and I watching one and taping the other. Those were some good times.
I haven't really watched wrestling since then, but I think when WCW finally folded, WWE got complacent. Today they're paying the price for that, which is why I believe they gave the Rock a blank check to come back and save the day.
Does anyone know if there's another organization on the rise (like WCW back then) that the WWE is worried about? Maybe they're stocking up on talent to avoid another ambush by a competing organization.

2. Too many PPVs - not enough time to build storylines. Ideally 1 PPV per 2 months
3. Not building enough next generation superstars after Rock/Austin left. How many times we ended up watching Triple H (although not recently) and Shawn Michaels as the highlight of the show ?
4. Ruining the women's division. I actually enjoyed this division when the divas were actually wrestlers. 100% dead on. Triple H has been out to film a movie and should be back on tv in the next month. Amen on the women's division, which was at it's best with Trish Stratus and Lita.
Like many on here huge NWO wolfpack fan especially because of their theme

Re: The Rock is back
How do you folks find WWE to be entertaining is beyond me. It's partly the contribution to the decline of western civilization "We are first and foremost an educational institution that values integrity, honesty and treating others with fairness and respect". -ISU President Gregory Geoffroy; circa May 2003. -

We know, it's stupid that we are entertained by it but it is what it is. Jersey SHore is the same way. I feel terrible after watching both but they are entertaining.

Maybe they're stocking up on talent to avoid another ambush by a competing organization. The only other circuit out there with any TV contract is NWA: TNA(Total Nonstop Action). They have a decent roster of wrestlers including some transplanted WWE guys like Kurt Angle, the Hardy brothers, the Dudley boys, Mick Foley, Jeff Jarrett, and so on. If I recall correctly their big hangup is that they tape their main show from the same arena down in Florida so they don't get the widespread live crowd like WWE. I don't think they are anywhere in the same catagorie as what WCW was in the day. I think one of wrestling's biggest problem over the last few years is not only the lack of "wrestling" competition, but also I think they lost a lot of viewers to the real thing in MMA.
