Holy crap, I live in the town that house 3 is in. I would not pay that much for a house in that part of town.
Holy Crap;
That one in Arizona looks awesome.
Where is Aurora Iowa? Can I drive home-and-back to ISU games on a weekday?
I got gobs of cash.
I would say that if you have the money and time to fix them up, at least a bit, and have years to wait for the market to truly recover than the house would be the better investment...
Surprisingly the house in Aurora doesn't appear bad at all, very good for the price, but being built in 1890 I'm going to imagine that if something is wrong or goes wrong with the house you are essentially renovating the whole thing!
maybe cars need a price correction too?
The one in Cheboygan looks very nice.
I'd rather have the Acura

I buy the house in all cases, while it may not increase in price (or even decrease), the car definitely will lose all of it's value in 10 years.
I think the housing market will eventually bounce back up. House all the way. A car is almost guaranteed to depreciate. A house has a much better chance to appreciate.
