But, there was no reason for this individual to act and speak in the manner in which he did. He would be the said 'tool' in the aforementioned replies. Actually, I was hoping that someone would say that this was a part-timer, and not the manager or owner, or both. Still not sure.
Don't get me wrong, the food, price, and service was good.

And there is no reason to make up false stories if indeed there was actually an issue here.

Does not compute.

Re: Wallaby's: Concern or norm?
I've been to Wallaby's so many times I couldn't even begin to estimate. And I have never had a bad experience there. The OP changed his story. Sounds like he has an axe to grind.

I have been to Dublin Bay a lot. Never to Wallaby's. I can sometimes be a D-bag.

Re: Wallaby's: Concern or norm?
I love Wallaby's, went there before the game on Saturday. The Hawkeye Wings (boneless and spineless) are great!
I don't think you guys need to be attacking 4Cyclones because he "lied." So he said he "heard" and then that he was there. Big deal. The substance of his story didn't change, just added more detail. Restaurants just aren't going to make everyone 100% happy 100% of the time, and sounds like this guys and his party just had a bad experience. I bet if he goes back he'll have a better one. No sense attacking him about "changing his story" or "flat out lying" when that's not what happened. Take it easy.
Go Cyclones!!!

Re: Wallaby's: Concern or norm?
I lived in west Ames for the nine years I lived in Ames and whenever I didn't feel like driving across town for lunch or dinner, Wallaby's was a great option to have out there.
I'm guessing this group of 20 strolled in expecting the place to just stop and cater to their every need.

What are you his dad?
He should have just stated his story factually, nothing more nothing less. And to back track on it when he gets hammered is weak.

Go Cyclones!!! This. No one knows what other considerations the manager had to deal with. Maybe someone else was watching a different program, so he was hesitant to turn the channel. You never know. I'll say that I've been there a ton of times and have always been treated really well...even with two loud kids screaming and tossing food on the floor.

Go Cyclones!!! He came on here blasting a good Ames restaurant that staunchly supports ISU, called the owner "a dbag" and then starts to backtrack and change his story. Sorry but he was asking to catch ****

Re: Wallaby's: Concern or norm?
The better question is who the hell goes to a bar to watch Nascar? I would have acted like that too. Wallaby's is awesome, go there every time I go to Ames.
