interstate 80 Southwest of Omaha is basically a no go. Had to get a Hotel room.
Nothing in Clive. We are going to dodge this bullet looks like. Now to get through Friday night and Saturday with minimal to nothing for accumulation.

The models were predicting a few inches in Des Moines, and nothing in Ames. What the models didn't know was that Paul Rhoads would be traveling to Des Moines for the recruiting party, and obviously snow is afraid of Paul Rhoads.
another accurate forecast - KCCI had predicted 4" for DM area.
Yeah, they blew it. The snow wasn't anywhere close to DSM. :jimlad:

The forecast busted by 20-30 miles, Knoxville which isn't very many miles SE of the metro got 6 inches. Part of the reason the forecast likely busted was the very nice frontogenetic band that did form just to the south of the metro, these bands cause very nice snowfall totals in the area they travel over but tend to cause subsidence outside these areas, especially on the already "dry" side of the system further impinging on snowfall totals.
