It's slighty amusing/disgusting to me how much attention this country seems to give the Royal weddings and family at times.

Some of our forfathers who came to America to escape the Monarchy and Taxes are probably rolling over in their graves.

What do these folks really do other than act as figureheads and live lavishly off the populace?

Its just the British version of hollywood celebrities. You are correct that it is silly, though I suppose it is better than lavishing that attention on Paris Hilton or the cast of Jersey Shore.

I am not disgusted by it, I just don't understand why anybody cares. And that includes any celebrities.
