35 corridor from Ames up to Mason City over to Marshalltown and Waterloo were just changed to Winter Storm Warning.

Advisory in Polk County, Warning in Story County.

Yeah that looks pretty good. The storm is coming in on a track a little farther to the SE, taking the location of the heaviest snow that direction as well, E of I35, N of 30.

I just feel though by the time things get completely switched to snow AND the temp drops from 41 to something that can better support sticking snow, most of the support for heavier precip will have pushed on by.

But we'll see. Changeover is always tricky.

Some very light rain here in Ames when I was walking home a second ago. Is it seriously supposed to snow?
