Re: Dam to Dam 2011
If I weren't going to be gone all summer, I would be SO in! IIRC, it's a weekend that I'm in Montana.

Can't wait for all that free beer at the finish line!
In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection. -

Re: Dam to Dam 2011
Planning on being in. I have really been battling ITB something fierce. I have a strap I wear around my knee, does not bother me when I run but when I play basketball or volleyball it hurts so bad when I try to jump, any ideas to help that out?

Assuming when you say ITB, you are referring to IT Bands, there are stretching exercises to easily address the problem. My son had this problem coming off a HS basketball season, limiting him in baseball. We went to a knee specialist who quickly diagonosed the problem as tight IT Bands. He gave him stretching exercises and within 3-4 days the problem was gone and he was back playing baseball without pain. If you google IT Bands or something of the sort, you can easily find stretching exercises that hopefully will quickly solve the issue. Good luck.

Definitely recommend stretching. Also recommend rest for awhile. And get some shoes with better cushioning.
I continued trying to do things with ITBS and by the time I figured it out it was so inflamed it pretty much put me on the shelf for 4 weeks. Of course being 40 didn't help the recovery time.

Actually IBS isn't very funny and depending on what is causing it can be deadly ... lecture over -

I will be signing up...
What is everyone's goal time?
How many times have you all run this event before?
My goal is 1 hour and 30 minutes and this will be my fifth time. I ran a couple of years ago when they handed out champagne at the 12 mile mark. Dry champagne was not the best thing to have at that point.
