Ames Visioning Project online survey
Tell the City of Ames how you feel about where they are and where they're going. There are plenty of opportunities to include your thoughts about how the City should interact with and support the University. Welcome to the City of Ames -

I like Ames, but I wasn't very nice on that survey.
Sometimes the truth hurts...

Re: Ames Visioning Project online survey
I participated in the survey as well. I really tried to get across, in a postive manner, that improvements to Campus Town need to be the focus for the City of Ames. My number one wish for the City of Ames would be to have the best Campus Town in the Midwest. Go Cyclones!!!

They heard some good things:
trails, small town feel, great town people
and bad things from me:
the mall is an outdated eyesore, for being home of the DOT the traffic is a nightmare, go ahead and update campustown but don't jam unwanted businesses and eliminate bars down there

Cripes, that did take awhile but I did fill the survey out. Hopefully they listen to the common folk.

I talked to my cousin that goes to CSU out there and he said that it used to be pretty bad but they did something similar to what a lot of people have envisioned here and its a lot better now

But I dont see the reason to make huge upgrades when all DM malls are 35 mins away.
And yes the traffic in Ames sucks.

And yes the traffic in Ames sucks. Yeah, its tough to know what to do with the mall, I just want something done with it. Quite of a few stores are empty and that strip attached to the south end is ugly and basically empty.

I can only think of that laundry mat in there on the far south end.

Re: Ames Visioning Project online survey
Where do some of you live that you think Ames traffic is a nightmare? Kelly? Ames' rush hour lasts about 7.25 minutes!
