Re: what is it with Rolling Rock beer?
1) It's not made in Latrobe.
2) It's not made in the famous glass lined tanks anymore.
3) InBev bought the recipe and and shut the brewery down.
Sounds like InBev is trying to move the brand to a new price point as a value beer.

Re: what is it with Rolling Rock beer?
I picked up a 30 on sale at hy-vee a couple weeks ago.
I still have 29 left.

Re: what is it with Rolling Rock beer?
They definitely did something to this beer. It used to be good. Picked up a 6 pack of tall boys over Christmas and it was freaking terrible.

Re: what is it with Rolling Rock beer?
I would guess that the beer had been exposed to light. Anything in a green or clear bottle lends itself to exposure to light, and if that happens, skunked beer.
Rolling Rock IMO used to be decent, but it has been a long time since I've had one. Maybe they changed the recipe also?

Sounds like InBev is trying to move the brand to a new price point as a value beer. So that's why it sucks now.

Rolling Rock was a pretty good beer, then Anheuser Busch bought it and screwed it all up. It has gone consistently downhill. Kinda sad really!!!!

Buy a cheap real beer.
Pour a glass 2/3 full.
Top it off with water.
Call it light beer.

Re: what is it with Rolling Rock beer?
Rolling Rock has it's own taste to me. I can have a couple but I couldn't drink large volumes of it. And there is something about drinking it out of a can that seems odd to me.

Light beer is however cheap thus worthy of being consumed. Any guy that purposely buys light beer should have their man card taken, period. I will drink one if offered it, or somewhere that there is no other choice. Sure it is cheap, it is 1/3 tab water. -

Re: what is it with Rolling Rock beer?
Why do any of you drink beer. Its only a fall back drink for me. Whiskey is were its at!

Re: what is it with Rolling Rock beer?
I buy the high life or light when my local store does the 30 for 15 sale. Very drinkable IMO. I don't have any problem working it in with the blue moon, cherry wheat la folie and unibroue thats also in the fridge.
Nothing to see here mods. Keep moving. -
Re: what is it with Rolling Rock beer?
Rolling Rock has gone down hill for years, out of a can is just un-natural. Take your $15 and buy a good 12 pack of something else.
