A friend of mine wants me to pick up an iPad 2 for her husband. I don't want to wander all over just to find out where they aren't. Anybody know where I can pick one up?
They'll have to wait 3-5 weeks. You probably won't find them in a store right now. They would probably have to order one at this point, or wait a month or so. A couple of stores where I asked (was curious) said they sold all they had within a hour!
Yeah you're not going to find one unless you're willing to make it a full time job for a few days.
Radio shack might be getting them in the next few days. Don't know of that has been well publicized.
Aside from that, you can but one at huge markup on eBay or you can wait a month and order online.
It's pretty much sold out worldwide.

the apple store gets em in everyday but they never know how many. you can go in the morning and wait. thats how a friend of mine got here's last week. might check craigs list too

I used something similar. Someone at this website provided links to check each model on Target's online inventory tracker. Looks like a White Wi-Fi 64 GB is available at the Urbandale Target. I was able to use this the Monday or Tuesday after these came out and found one in West Des Moines. I would suggest checking this in the morning, after they've restocked over night. I was able to walk into a Target and grab one easily.
I used the link from Macrumors and hooked up a iPad 2 from Ankeny Super Target a few weeks ago. I called because it showed the inventory but the sales person had no clue so I went to check it out. Sure enough they had several in stock.
