Healthiest/Least Healthy Counties in Iowa
Delaware County in northeast Iowa has the state's healthiest residents, while those living in Appanoose County are the least healthy, a new study is reporting today.
The report by the University of Wisconsin's Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation documents a significant health disparity between some Iowa counties. The state's most healthy counties are generally clustered in northeast Iowa, while the least healthy are primarily in southern Iowa, historically home to many of the state's poorest residents.
The differences between Iowa's healthiest and least healthy counties are stark: Big disparity found in health of Iowans | The Des Moines Register | DesMoinesRegister.com -

Guthrie County recently gave by a $300k grant back to Iowa b/c they didnt want to help maintain a bike trail connecting Coon Rapids, the Whiterock Conservancy, Bayard & Bagley to the Raccoon River Valley Trail (the one that runs from WDM to Jefferson)..
Guthrie County is #65, so they are fat & stupid...

No need to call names. Unless you're talking about just the north part of Guthrie County.

Pretty strong correlation between education and income level to the most healthy counties. Not surprised to see my old Western Iowa stomping grounds ranked pretty low.

Wasn't Ames ranked in the top 5 places in the world for cleanest water system?
