Im graduating this semester and want to take a graduation trip and I am thinking of going to Florida. I have been to Tampa and Ft Myers and both are nice, but also considering a place like Ft Lauderdale. Any suggestions on a good place to go? The Keys are probably out of my budget keep in mind
We had a good time in Miami. Little Havana, offshore fishing, everglades, South Beach, overall a good time.
What do you want to do? Lay on the beach and relax or party or some combination of both? Something else?

Juno Beach in Jupiter, Florida is a great beach to go to.
My family goes to Captiva every year off the coast of Ft. Myers. We generally don't go until June - when the prices drop - and at that time it's not very busy so it's great for just relaxing and not doing much. Pricewise, I don't know how it compares to the Keys.
Cocoa Beach, Port Canaveral area - 45 minutes south of Orlando
I had a blast in Destin this august. There was no oil and the sand looked like vanilla bean ice cream. It didn't hurt that my uncle owns a house a block from the beach.
We had an absolute blast in Naples last May. My favorite beaches that we've been to in Florida (as compared to Daytona or Key West). Hotels should be cheap, as the area is really hurting. Just a hop and a skip to Sanibel Island too.
Thanks for your suggestions. As of now, I am looking at Ft Lauderdale just because it looks like its cheaper to fly there than most places I am looking at and it sounds nice too. I'm not doing this for a few months though so it could change
