That's unbelievable. Prior to the Japan earthquake, I had this image in my head of what a tsunami was like, but all the videos I've seen have been much different than what I had pictured.

Here's one I posted here a while ago. It's 9 minutes long, but pretty amazing. The harbor goes from fine to gone in 9 minutes. Put yourself in the place of the guy filming it, and it's particularly frightening.

They showed much of this footage on Nova on PBS and it's absolutely frightening (You can watch it online at the Nova website).

On the show, they talk about how the ground actually sank some 3+ meters, which is why the tsunami blocking sea-walls were overwhelmed by the waves.
