Re: asbestos insulation
Based on those pictures I'm 75% certain that's not asbestos insulation. But without seeing it in person I can't be certain.
Either way you should treat it like it is when you work around it. Try to protect all your skin that could come in contact with it and wear a respirator. Wear one of the HEPA-rated respirators, try to avoid the white masks. If that's all you can find, make sure it has a tight fit around your face.
Asbestos is not dangerous to touch, it's hazardous when you inhale it. Be careful removing your clothes so no dust comes off of them and wash them right away.

Re: asbestos insulation
Wear a mask, long sleeves, gloves. It's probably not asbestos. Looks like some of the earliest faced fiberglass insulation. But if you take a few simple precautions you'll be fine regardless of what the material is. Do NOT call in an "expert." The last thing you want to do is invite someone in whose goal is to find a "problem" they can charge you several thousand dollars to "abate." A house of that vintage probably has asbestos in it somewhere and they will find it and then try to pressure you into abatement even though it presents no risk.

Re: asbestos insulation
if in doubt, send some in and have it tested.
i'd wear a hepa mask/respirator, and clothes that are throw aways. you don't want to stir up any asbestos and have it get circulated through the house.
same goes for popcorn ceilings prior to mid 80s (made with asbestos). it is in fashion to take those down and replace with knock down. before i did that at all i'd have it tested.

Fun show to watch, but man, dont plan on calling him and not having at least one room of your house completely taken down to studs. Crazy stuff they find in those houses though.
