After finishing a workout do you drink beer?

They said the bubbles in the beer help quench thirst while the carbohydrates help make up for burned calories.

Doesnt the body burn the alcohol first before burning sugars, carbs, etc? Thats what I had heard. The body thinks the alcohol is a sugar or something. I guess it depends on if you want to lose weight. But I'm not one to gossip... so you didn't hear that from me!
Re: After finishing a workout do you drink beer?
I love beer, but it's about the last thing I want after a workout. I'll stick with chocolate milk, water, or gatorade.

Exercise for me tends to mean riding my bike. After riding I almost always have a beer (after my chocolate milk of course) I think its most like the influence of to many RAGBRAIs.

That article sucks. It doesn't even say the results of the study. It just says:

Researchers then gave beer to half of the students and water to the other half.
and then stops and doesn't explain what happened to each group of students.
And going by what they say, the bubbles help quench thirst and the carbs make up for burned calories. Well, why not drink pop then? The alcohol in beer is just going to dehydrate you even more.
Yes, drinking in moderation is good for you. But, to say its better than water immediately after a workout? I call BS. If I'm really serious about working out, I would much rather drink water or milk after my workout.
That being said, I love beer, but wouldn't choose to drink it after a workout over milk or water.

Beer after a run is surprisingly amazing. I highly suggest you all try it sometime.

You'll drink milk but not beer after working out? Milk would be about last on my list.
Re: After finishing a workout do you drink beer?
I drink the beer, but avoid the workout. Does that help?

Beer is what they give you at the finish of the Des Moines Marathon

Sounds gross, I know, but actually really good for you.

I'm sure it is but I'm not a big milk fan in the first place so that probably makes it worse.

Milk after a workout? Not seeing it.

You drink or eat something with protien in it. And about 60% carbs. There's your answer. Beer, only on the weekends.
