He was in my battalion. It's part of my job to set-up for his memorial service at his his COP (combat outpost), so I will be up there tomorrow. I was actually just there last week as part of my circulation. Prayers to his family and friends.

Absolutely horrible news. Thoughts and prayers for friends and family.

I just traveled to Iowa this past weekend to see a buddy back in the states while he's on 2 week's leave from Afghanistan. Glad I did, because you never know when it will be the last time you see someone, God forbid.

this really sucks.. a fellow Iowa soldier has died and it hits us all hard.. I had actually ran into him a couple times.. my prayers go out to all of his friends and family.. also to everyone over there..

my step dad and many many friends are over there right now and all I can do is pray that all of them come back the same way they went over
Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

One of my best friends dad is a Colonel (I believe) in the Army. He's one of the best all around men I know.

Thoughts and prayers to the family and friends.

Sad, he lived less than five miles from my house. Thoughts and prayers to his family from all his fellow servicemen in Afghanistan.
