I was messing around with users accounts and somehow made a change and now I have no control over anything. When I go to "user accounts" I'm logged in as mike (made this up) and it says "guest account" password protected. Things like change your account type and manage another account are both locked down. When I try to access them I get a box asking "do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer" but yes is grayed out. How the hell do I get back into an account that has admin rights?
There should be an administrator account on the machine. You can verify what accounts are on there a couple ways. One way is to go to your C: drive, then Users. Here's an article that talks about how to enable the administrator account on Windows 7 if it is disabled.
