Fairfield Golf Coach Charged with OWI While Driving Team

The girls’ golf coach at Fairfield High School was arrested under suspicion of drunk driving, while transporting her team to a meet.
Officials at the Lee County Jail confirmed that Susie Steinbeck, 59, of Fairfield, was in custody today after being arrested by the Iowa State Patrol on Tuesday. She is also charged with child endangerment, jail officials said.
Fairfield High School issued a news release on its website that confirmed Steinbeck coaches the girls’ golf team and is a middle-school team in computer applications. The release from superintendent Don Achelpohl indicated “the safety of the students was verified and the district made arrangements for the team to continue on to Keokuk. Parents were notified by Fairfield High School of the incident. The district is continuing to investigate the incident regarding possible further action.”
Lee County officials told the Des Moines Register that and Iowa State Patrol found the suburban carrying the team parked at the side of the road at 7:55 a.m., near the intersection of highways 218 and 16 — south of Mount Pleasant.

Um...not sure about that. But she is certainly entitled to any benefits she earned up to this point in her career. How can you justify taking those away from her?

I can't go into details about it because no charges were filed but the school my wife teaches at just had a teacher let go last friday because she was drunk in the classroom at 8 AM. They found out because another teacher picked her up to go to work because she lost her license due to an OWI on her way home from school three weeks ago but they couldn't prove she was drinking in school that day, so she was being watched pretty closely. The teacher that picked her up smelled alcohol on her pretty strongly and went to principal to go check as she was 99 percent sure she was drunk.
Anyways principal and guidance counselor drive her to police station to blow and lets just say she didn't pass and it wasn't even close, this is at 8:30 AM.
Like i said I can't go into any details about it because it hasn't been settled and no charges will be filed, but it appears except for she lost her job and it appears she will lose her teaching license.
Kicker in the whole thing is that the teacher who got fired called another teacher who is really good friends with my wife and blames the teacher who turned her in for ruining her life and that she should have just left her alone because now her last name will be ruined in her community. She apparently thinks she did nothing wrong.
