My new motorsports blog for the DSM Register
Hey racing fans. I just wanted to share some work outside of CF that I'll be doing during the summer months. Two times per week, I'll post a blog on the Des Moines Register's sports site featuring my thoughts on the world of auto racing. I posted the first installment today.
I'm pretty excited about this opportunity. If you're into racing, please give it a read. If not, no big deal. To each their own right? New blog: Chris Williams and his three things to watch this weekend | Des Moines Register Staff Blogs -

Re: My new motorsports blog for the DSM Register
Never knew you were a race fan. If you ever need to get out of Iowa and want to check out another great race track in the late fall head down to St. Louis. (Season goes longer here) Ken Schrader has a track just south of St. Louis and there is another one just east of St. Louis. They race on Friday and Saturday night. They have a great group of cars at a WILD race track. They rival any track in Iowa for racing and I grew up going to Oskaloosa, Knoxville, and have been to Boone and Marshaltown as well.

As long as you mention Dick Trickle every couple of weeks I will read it

Re: My new motorsports blog for the DSM Register
World’s Largest HDTV: The best thing about Saturday night’s All-Star race won’t have anything to do with horsepower or wedge adjustments. The Lowe’s Motor Speedway will break in the “world’s largest HDTV” for the first time. My 40-inch Sony doesn’t seem so cool anymore.
Take that Darrell K Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium and Cowboys Stadium!

I will have to keep that in mind. Thanks for the tip. I've wanted to get down to Wheatland, MO the past couple of years, but have never been able to make it work logistically.

Wheatland is probably the second nicest dirt facility (behind Knoxville) I have been to. But dang thats a long haul.
