A quick proofread generally catches such mistakes (I caught myself this morning typing "is" instead of "in").
If you really take the interwebz so seriously I almost feel bad for you. Almost. You're like the lady a few offices down: You can't take ANY amount of ribbing and automatically assume people are trying to offend you.
I think generally when I see people getting made of for grammar it is either
a) pointing out irony or
b) shredding their already-faltering credibility.

Most of the time it's just making fun in a friendly manner. I don't know about you, but when my friends mess something up, I generally give them some ***** for it.

Didn't your mother ever tell you that just because everybody's doing it doesn't make it right? We're on a COLLEGE sports fan website. You'd think we'd want to represent, instead of posting any old crap and not proofreading.

With all the stuff that gets posted on this site, do you really think getting made fun of for a typo is the worst part for a 12 year old?!
Don't get me wrong I love it all, but it's not exactly always pg-13

It's a thread about misspellings and you bring the fact that I am Hawk fan into it. Sensing a little anger in the post, that's all. -

Ok, I think I've figured out why this is such a sticking point for you. I promise, we'll get through it, but first...
Show me where, on the doll, the dictionary salesman touched you.
