Autism and vaccinations
New study claims 83 autism cases caused by vaccinations - ksl.com
A study scheduled for publication in the Pace Environmental Law Review closely examined public information on 1,300 cases in which the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program compensated families. Significant brain injuries were found in compensated patients as a direct result of vaccinations. Eighty-three cases specifically resulted in autism and are being called, “the tip of the iceberg.”
I don't do signatures. Blondes, brunettes, and red heads are a different story. -
Re: Autism and vaccinations
Dunno what to say to this. The original study that claimed the so called link was a sham, a complete and utter embarrassment to the scientific community.
I don't know what to think.

Re: Autism and vaccinations
So if the small amount of the disease contained in a vaccine is enough to trigger autism in some kids, what would actually catching the disease do to these kids?

I am perplexed by this new article as well.

Re: Autism and vaccinations
Though it cannot be said that the findings scientifically prove a direct correlation between autism and vaccinations, many believe it is a step toward validating what so many in the autism community have said is at the root of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Parents just want to be able to point to something and say this is what made my kid sick, and making a couple bucks is probably also nice. There is literally zero scientific evidence that would link autism with vaccines.
I wonder how many kids died from preventable diseases in the same timeframe.

Re: Autism and vaccinations
"The influence of vaccines on a child cannot explain the measurable differences in brain structure and brain function that exist between autistic and non-autistic children." -American Academy of Pediatrics I am so sick of this debate!

Let's also keep in mind this was published in a law journal, not a medical journal. I'll wait to see the actual article as media stories almost always distort or exaggerate the claims made in scientific articles when they are published.

Re: Autism and vaccinations
I think people would stop looking at vaccines if the scientific community could explain the rist in autism. But they haven't so far so it is no wonder parents are searching for an answer.

Re: Autism and vaccinations
Simply put...
If you believe there is a link between vaccinations and autism, you are a fool.
