PS if you have money in online gambling site...

If you have significant money in an online site i suggest withdrawing it as soon as you can. The Govt is cracking down big time on all off short sites, and trying to throw all the owners in Fed Prison. Some of the most trust worthy and biggest sites took matters into their own hands a few months ago by no longer allowing US citizens to place money onto their site any longer. They did issue everyones money back, which was good.

However most of the smaller sites that most people probably use like BetUS, or Sports Betting are still in operation, but will have no need to pay you out as they will not be operating with us customers for much longer. all the news out of vegas and online is the Govt has been monitering and watching this for a long long time and now are going all in to stop them from making Billions in US dollars.

Just FYI.

I can see online Poker becoming legal in the US soon, but Sports Betting will take much longer as there just are not that many rich lobiest that will back it... While there are many very rich lobiest that will fight it.... like everyone in Vegas and the NFL... the NFL wants gambling legal, but will never publically back it.

What a load of horse crap. In a free country we can't even place a bet on a Cyclone game or play a $20 game of poker with our own hard-earned money?

This is all because of the UIGEA, passed in 2006 by Congress when it was tacked onto a completely unrelated port security bill, at the very last moment, with no public debate allowed on the issue. A big middle finger to Bill Frist and Jim Leach, and anyone who supported these freedom-hating SOBs.

Write your Congressman about this, if you believe in personal freedom.

This really pisses me off. I figured if there was anyplace my money was safe, it was on account with an organized crime syndicate based in the Cayman Islands.

Yep, all because of their lobbyists. No other reason why that is illegal but poker or sports betting isn't.

Since the UIGEA has passed and reputable (usually publicly traded companies from England) online gaming companies have left the US, there has been a major increase in gambling with bookies and organized crime. Prohibition never works, it just leads to more criminal profits, and less safety for the people betting. Whether or not someone understands that relationship is a pretty good barometer of their intelligence.
